Mayumi Thyme (麻弓＝タイム, Thyme Mayumi^? ) is a side character in the Shuffle! series. She is a heterochromia-eyed half-human and half-devil. She is a second year in Rin's class at Verbena Academy.

Personality

Mayumi has a bubbly and hyper personality, but she is not very good at test-taking and often has low grades. She is good friends with Kaede and is always looking for news.

She has the smallest bust size in the series; a fact often made fun of by Rin and Itsuki. Nonetheless, she takes pride in her small breasts, rationalizing that by being below average, they are a rarity sought after by a select group of men.

Background

Mayumi's family owns a bathhouse, and she often has to help out around her household. Although she usually tries to find a way around it, much to her parents' dismay. While the gang went to the beach, Mayumi sneaked away from summer school to join them, much to the dismay of their homeroom teacher Nadeshiko Benibara.

Character Relationships

• Rin: Her friend and classmate. Rin met Itsuki during the middle school, where hooligans surrounded Itsuki and Mayumi, and Rin joined Itsuki in fighting them off. Most of their interactions are rather comical than anything else. It isn't until Really? Really! and Shuffle! Essence+ that she becomes a winnable heroine and a love interest.

• Itsuki: It is revealed in Shuffle! Essence+ that she and Itsuki are childhood friends. The two often arguing, much to the amusement of the other students. He often teases her small chest while she teases him every time he is rejected by a girl (who already likes Rin). It is hinted that she may have feelings for Itsuki, despite their frequent quarreling, and Itsuki has romantic feelings for her. He uses taunts about her small bust to get her attention.

• Kaede: Her friend and classmate. Mayumi is usually around Kaede when she isn't around Itsuki, and the two appear to be good friends.

Etymology

• The name Mayumi means "hemp, flax" (麻) (ma) and "archery bow" (弓) (yumi).

Trivia

• Mayumi is the one to first tell Rin and Kaede about the rumored transfer students, which end up being Nerine and Sia.
• Itsuki, Mayumi, King of Devils, and Gods are the comical characters of the series.
